After an initial phone call with a Freshfields employee, I completed a written test and attention to detail exercise. On successful completion of the tests, I had a virtual interview. Both interviewers were very friendly and I enjoyed the interview process.
3 stages - HR, lawyers and a partner. Overall
the process is structured, however, technical questions from lawyers and parents can be difficult. They want to make sure you have actual knowledge in corporate and commercial matters.

Could you describe how tag/drag-along provisions work?
Very well structured, interviewers were very friendly and approachable. It was a mix if competency based questions and questions around personal characteristics. Moreover, once they have made a decision, they reach out to provide feedback.
There was a native Mandarin translator who will ask the interviewee to instantly translate a commercial contract from English to Chinese. The rest of the interview tasks include a due diligence test.
