DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE IN ANY OF THE TECH/SKILLS THE RECRUITER MENTIONS.
1. Recruiter interview
2. Take-home test (go)
3. Rounds of interview with different developers: knowledge and understanding of network concepts, http, and troubleshooting an entire system.
Originally, I was hesitant to continue with the process once the recruiter mentioned a take-home test and they were looking for a dev with K8 experience. I said I don't have any experience working with it. He said not to worry, they are looking for someone willing to learn it, just be honest. Fine.
I wasted an entire weekend I'll never get back working on the test; passed with flying colors because I was thorough.
Except for the final part, the interviews with the devs went very well since I spent a week preparing and studying (study the Glassdoor reviews for topics).
I didn't do well in the final part: troubleshooting a system given a scenario. Due to my lack of experience, I didn't pinpoint the problem until some time. However, in the end I did identify the problematic component and provided the correct solution by scaling one of the services horizontally.
In the end, the recruiter told me everyone liked me and they had a tough decision on whether to send me an offer, but unfortunately, I didn't have enough experience in K8 and they didn't have any resources to train me. He said he'll loop back in 6 months if the situation changes.
Over six months later, the same recruiter did reach back but the expectation was different: he sent me his template recruiter message and had completely forgotten about me. I replied reminding who I was and he answered with three sentences, basically wishing me luck in my job search.
The GD reviews were good and I was looking forward to joining Forms3 --
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOU WILL BE SORELY DISAPPOINTED.
