I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Forever 21 (Peoria, AZ) in Feb 2011
Interview
I went in for an open interview with a filled out application I had printed online and got in line for my interview. There were about 50 other people interviewing for the job and they would take in about 7 at a time to do a group interview. They asked questions like "What is your favorite current trend?", "What experience do you have that is relevant?", "Why Forever 21?", and the usual strengths and weaknesses questions. After everyone in the group gave their answers the hiring manager asked 3 of us to stay and the others could leave. They informed us that we would be coming in for a second interview two days later. At this interview they asked more in- depth questions but we were still in a group setting. After all the questions they asked each one of us to sell something that we were wearing. They then told us they would contact us by the end of the week and I was offered a job. The interview process was very easy and laid back, I felt pretty comfortable and not so nervous. The managers were nice and seemed genuine. My best advice would be to dress very fashionable, not fancy, but have your "swag" on. They really want to see who YOU are and what you will bring to the company. They hire individuals and free spirits.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Forever 21 (San Luis Obispo, CA) in Sep 2011
Interview
I turned in my application and got an immediate on spot interview by a comanager. It was unexpected, so I wasnt prepared with any answers they asked. I just answered trufully and as best as I could. They offered me a group interview for the next day. I went to the interview, and I didnt think the short little interview I had the day before even counted as a real one but I found out I was on step 2 of the interview process. I sat down with 3 other girls and the manager. she was really nice and comforting, and the questions were pretty basic. She just went in a circle asking us all the same questions. She then took us all out separately. She offered me a position and I gladly accepted. Im not sure if the other girls were offered a position or not. If you get an interview Id say to be really spunky and outgoing so you leave an impression with them. Be real and as natural as possible. Review questions in your head and come prepared with answers.

Interview
I was job searching online, when I discovered the the Forever 21 in our mall was being remodeled and was going to have a job fair lasting 3 days from 10am-4pm. I decided I would go since I have never had an interview before and figured I might have a good chance. I printed out my resume and application and filled it out before going. I went on the first day of interview and I got there about an hour ahead of time, so I was the very first new person to get interviewed. First, they started interviewing re-hires, which took about 30 minutes; then they finally called me over. It was a one on one interview, but there were about three other interviews going on across the table at the same time. She asked me 3 questions and that was it. The interview couldn't have been any more than 5 minutes and the woman interviewing me had a straight face the whole time. I couldn't tell if she was negative or positive on my performance. I decided to go the extra mile and come back on the last day of interviews with a follow-up/thank you letter. I waited for all the people to be gone and went up to the woman who interviewed me, introduced myself, handed her the letter, thanked her again, and walked away. I was so confident that I had this job in the bag, but I never got a call.
