It was an in-person interview. It was very easy, and a standard retail interview. lasted around 10 minutes. The manager asked some scenario questions but overall, the questions were pretty straightforward.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Forever 21 (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2012
Interview
I applied in person, and upon returning my application, that very same day, was scheduled to interview for the following afternoon. I was told to "dress to impress" meaning be very fashionable and look good, and bring lots of energy to the interview. Upon my arrival the following afternoon, there were about two or three others waiting to be interviewed. I was first interviewed by the Recruiting Manager, then by the Assistant Store manager. They were already interested off the bat. I received a telephone call offering me the position only a couple hours after the interview.

Question 1
Didn't find any of the questions difficult or over the top, but maybe that's because I am seasoned at working retail.
It was a casual group interview. I sat down with a manager and another girl who was applying. They just asked a few standard questions about us and our experience.
Interviewer did not seem very experienced. He was rushing the interview and only asked general questions such as where do you see yourself in 10 years… for an entry level job.
