I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Forever 21 in Jul 2011
Interview
I filled out an application and handed it in in-person to one of the store managers. Even though a resume isn't required I attached one anyway cause right away I think it makes a good impression. When you turn it in I would even advise that you should look nice and happy, try to be memorable. About a week or so later I got a call for an interview the next day. Make sure to dress up for this! It was a group interview in the mall's food court. There were about 12 people including me interviewing for the job and only one other person besides me dressed up for it so I really think that this alone helped me stand out. I wore a semi formal black and white dress of a similar style to Forever 21, cute black flats and a pearl necklace. The interviewers were 2 of the store managers. They went around the group asking your name and a little about yourself. Then they asked, "what do you define as multitasking, and give an example", "how do you deal with an irate customer?", "why do you want to work at Forever 21?" "what do you define as great customer service and give an example of when you provided great customer service", and "what is your greatest strength and weakness?" It went fairly quickly since they had 2 more group interviews that same day to get through. I'm a pretty shy person deep down so I get nervous when having to answer in front of everyone but I don't think I showed it. Try to be confident, natural, and always positive/optimistic in your answers! I would say humor always helps too. The managers were very nice and kept things very casual but professional at the same time. After the interview they informed us that they would call you by 4pm the next day if you got the job and if you didn't get a call you didn't get the job. I got a call that night and accepted. But after accepting they didn't call me in for orientation for a full 2.5 weeks later, so that was kind of frustrating.. but I think/hope I'll enjoy the job once I get going! Everyone there seems a little bit stressed/busy but very friendly and willing to help. I hope this helps. Good luck on your interviews! :)
It was an in-person interview. It was very easy, and a standard retail interview. lasted around 10 minutes. The manager asked some scenario questions but overall, the questions were pretty straightforward.
It was a casual group interview. I sat down with a manager and another girl who was applying. They just asked a few standard questions about us and our experience.
Interviewer did not seem very experienced. He was rushing the interview and only asked general questions such as where do you see yourself in 10 years… for an entry level job.
