I interviewed at Fluor (Farnborough, Hampshire, South East England, England)
Interview
2 stage interview process, 2nd stage face to face on site. Clear questions and relaxed environment. Manager explained details of all the projects and possible career paths available if joining. Office space very comfortable.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Fluor
Interview
The interview process was disjointed and there was no follow up. I made it to the third round I guess, but I never received a phone call after I was told I would receive a call. Feedback after you make it to that level would be great for candidates especially if they are not selected.

Question 1
Are you flexible to assist employees in different time zones?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fluor (Greenville, SC) in Feb 2025
Interview
In my 15+ year career, I’ve never encountered such an exclusionary, unwelcoming interviewer as I found a recent Fluor’s interview lead to be. Every one of Fluor’s job listings START with stating they are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Which very clearly declares everyone is welcome and has a fair chance of at least being considered for a position within the company especially if they are selected for an interview. However our 4pm interview might as well have been 9pm. This person was continuously dismissive of my qualifications, he tried to end the interview prematurely multiple times, and at one point was visibly annoyed I was engaging the other participants and turned his camera off while muting his microphone. He literally showed up to the interview trying to end it. This professionally disrespectful scenario is a first for me, someone who has a Masters degree equivalent in architectural design experience, and very solidly qualified for the position. Which led me to consider a few thoughts on why this person acted so exclusionary during our meeting:
- He has someone in mind he is trying to specifically promote for this role.
- He leaves the office before rush hour and a 4pm meeting affects that commute.
- He had a case of “the Mondays” and just came off a bit rude and distasteful by the end of the day.
Either way, I would caution anyone towards applying to Fluor as long as scenarios like this are happening, especially since I made the company aware of this person's actions and they refused to even acknowledge or reply about it at all. Onboarding with a new company is a hard enough process already for so many well qualified applicants! Coming away from an interview with the feeling of being excluded, delegitimized, and insulted is not acceptable. And that’s why this review is being written.
