Applied online and received an email from the recruiter right after inviting me for an interview with herself and another talent acquisition trainee.
The interview length was around 30 mins and there were mainly CV questions as well as technical/business questions around Excel skills and FMCG Industry & Ferrero knowledge. I was advised that they will be in touch in two weeks at most.
Over a month passed without me receiving any updates on my application, so after contacting them I received the typical recruiting answer "recruitment process is still ongoing". I told them that I have also received another offer in the meantime and needed to make a decision soon. I also mentioned other internship positions that I would be interested in as I was keen on joining Ferrero and had multiple interests at that time. The recruiter replied that they are considering me for the other roles and will get back to me asap.
After that phone conversation there was an absolute silence for another month, after which I received the automatic rejection email, making it 3 months of waiting for interview feedback.
Interestingly, the original job posting that I applied to mentioned a start date in February 2020. Every time I check their Careers Website the start date keeps getting pushed ahead, now there's a start date of June 2020 which prompts me to believe that they are not serious about getting an intern onboard and makes me doubt on the reliability of their recruitment.
It might be a pure window shopping tactic from their side or simply interview practicing in order to train the other recruitment intern.
Overall, an extremely poor and disappointing experience! Learn how to treat the candidates more fairly and respect your promises by getting back to them with feedback within the promised timeframe!
