I was genuinely excited about this role. My interviews went well, and the hiring manager explicitly told me that I had passed and would move to the next step. After that, communication became confusing. I contacted recruiting, and they replied once — but they never acknowledged what the manager had told me, only saying they were waiting for an update.
That update never came. After that reply, they stopped communicating altogether and didn’t answer my follow-up emails. Two weeks later, I finally got a rejection email.
I can handle being rejected — what really hurt was being left hanging with no clarity after being told I was moving forward. Job searches aren’t just a process on paper; people are depending on these opportunities to support their families.
I hope they work on communicating honestly with candidates. A simple update would have made this experience much less frustrating, and it would show respect for the people who truly need these jobs.
