The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Emma in Aug 2023
Interview
What a bunch of unprofessionals. Literally a complete waste of time. A recruiter reached out to me, and I had several interviews in the span of two weeks. The last interview took an entire Friday afternoon. They were asking completely hypothetical questions that had zero practical relevance. It went on like this for hours. I was waiting to talk about the role or any related topics, but I was waiting in vain. Then at the last interview they brought some "brain teasers", some basic logic questions. Which market is worth entering etc. Then, after feeling like I nailed it, because I did, I was waiting for an answer. The last interviewer calls me a couple days later, saying that Im not the right fit because I struggle to make decisions on my own. Excuse me? Because I said that in the case of an important decision I would consult my supervisors. Especially given that EMMA emphasizes teamwork and communication. Complete nonsense reason for not hiring me. And the biggest joke of it all is how they were unable to answer my emails when I called them out on that. Judging someone's profile based on some isolated hypothetical questions just shows how lost they are. The whole company just screams chaos. Waste of time, complete lack of professionalism and dignity to answer an email. I sent it to every single person involved in the process, none of them answered.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If on your first day you have 8 hours of job, but then someone comes to you to help them with another 8 hour job, then someone else does the same then the CEO asks the same which one do you prioritize? (seems like a realistic question doesn't it)
If you had a conflict with someone in the office how would you handle it.
Hypothetical, nonsense questions.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Emma (Frankfurt am Main) in Nov 2023
Interview
Firstly, I had the test with 50 questions. After that i had a half an hour interview with a recruiter. At this interview felt like i didn't have time to explain what i have worked with or which are my expectations for this role. The introduction for me was really short and later on i had some tricky questions with goal the evaluation of your logical and mathematical skills. The discussion with the recruiter was quite pleasant. One week after this interview i received an email informed me that they would like to continue with me on Recruiting Friday but first ask me if i'm ok with the salary budget that they have set for this role. The budget was below my expectations but i continued.
The last stage was the worst. The recruiting Friday started at 14:00 and finished 18:00 for me. I had 3 different interviews with people from different departments. As a result i was exhausted after my last one. Some people asked the same things over and over again and explained me a lot of cases to see my way of thinking. Also when i asked their expectations from me at this position in the next 6 months and the first 1 year they were not sure at all passing the question from one to another felt strange for me. Through this final process again i didnt felt like i had the time to explain what i'm doing in my current position or why i applied at Emma. After 3 really tiring interviews i received a call next week informed me that i was one of their final choices but unfortunately they won't move forward with my application. They said that everything was great but right now they need someone more senior at the team. That sounded extremely crazy to me because it was the first time that i heard this kind of demand. Everyone said at the interviews that they need young people to have innovative ideas and trained there. I was also never told that the position was for senior if i knew that i wouldn't continue with it spend a whole day of my current job and lose my time. Also the salary that they told me one day before recruiting day was not for a senior for sure!
So they just don't know what they asked for and just take people for exhausting interviews without knowing their needs. Or they wanted a senior from start paying with a junior salary (even below) but never informed me. Both choices sound really unstructured to me. After second thoughts i felt relieved that i didn't start there.

What a waste of time! Their so called recruitment day is just a joke :) You are learning nothing about a company and the way it operates (apparently extremely chaotic), you do not even meet your potential hiring manager, which is quite unbelievable. You are being interviewed by the bunch of freshly graduates who have absolutely no clue about your role and future responsibilities. Really sorry for 4 hours of my life.
