very poor process
no transperency
Dear Hiring Team,
Excited about Bpifrance's impactful mission. My strategic skills and passion align with your goals. Eager to contribute to French companies' growth. Thank you for considering.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Emma (Frankfurt am Main) in Aug 2023
Interview
Several interviews in which I was able to meet different people from the company and from different levels of seniority. The tasks were explained really well and I was asked several things not only technical but mainly tied to my soft skills and the NDA of the company which was really good to know better the culture of the company. Along the process I was notified quite fast about the process and the next steps.
After the offer, P&O contacted me to support me with my questions and so did my boss before my starting date. Overall, it was a pleasant process, super tidy and well prepared.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions were precised, super oriented to how would I manage a hostil situation within the team or with other stakeholders, how would i communicate due dates with the team, how would I approach a topic over the monthly closing, how I imagine my priorities in the first 3-6 months, how would I read my team and what would i do to know them better.
I applied online. I interviewed at Emma in Feb 2024

Disheartening Candidate Experience at Emma
My recent encounter with Emma left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. As someone who values transparency and genuine human connection, I was appalled by the misalignment between the company's purported values and its actual practices.
I saw the job on LinkedIn, I attempted to reach out to Emma's representatives on the platform to clarify certain details such as the status of the job opening and salary information. However, despite multiple attempts, I received no response.
Undeterred, I proceeded with the application process, only to be met with further dismay. Instead of the expected telephone screening for a senior role, I was immediately directed to complete a personality and cognitive assessment. While I complied with the assessment, confident in my abilities, I was left baffled when I received an abrupt rejection email shortly afterward, devoid of any explanation or feedback.
This experience left me questioning Emma's commitment to being a people-centric organisation. It's evident that the company lacks empathy and fails to recognise the significance of candidate experience in shaping its brand reputation. If this is the standard treatment prospective employees can expect, then it raises serious doubts about the company's values and culture.
Regrettably, I cannot in good conscience recommend Emma as an employer to anyone seeking a humane and respectful work environment. Perhaps this is a place better suited for automated processes rather than human interaction. Assessment are not first thing screening tools to handle high volume, it is lazy way of conducting business. Strong well trained recruiter shortlist strong candidates and speak to them.
