Screening interview
This is usually the first contact with a candidate, and can be a phone call or a short in-person meeting. The purpose is to identify the most qualified candidates to move forward.
First interview
This is usually a one-on-one meeting with the hiring manager to assess the candidate's qualifications and experience. The interviewer will ask questions about the candidate's work history, skills, and experience.
Additional interviews
Some companies may conduct multiple interviews, including a third interview that may involve meeting with the hiring manager and other colleagues.
Background check
The employer may conduct a background or credit check at some point during the process.
