I applied online. I interviewed at EF (Education First)
Interview
I got an invitation to interview and along with it, the company sent me the zoom link. A week later that our interview was supposed to take place, I used that link in order to join the meeting. The link didn't work and a ''page not found'' appeared. I immediately texted the recruiter, saying that I have difficulty in entering the meeting. I was sent the same link. Again, I couldn't enter the room. I suggested an alternative, either using Skype or my zoom link. I got no reply on it, she just sent me again the same link saying that she has been interviewing all morning and it's impossible that I can't use the link. Finally, after 20', she just said that she has another chat and we should postpone it for another day/time. I agreed but I asked for another link. I never got a reply and of course they never invitited me to another interview. This is unfair since we, as teacher, must always be flexible and provide technical support to our students. We are obliged to work online, so we must all adapt to this new reality. I was treated unfair. I don't recommend working with this company in Malta.
The interview was okay, The lady was really nice. But unfortunately I did not get an offer. The interview took about 20 minutes. She wanted to know about my experience and teaching philosophy.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What are the challenges you faced when teaching young students
The ESL interview typically is Online with Academic Director. Easy straightforward questions. No teaching demo. Situational questions to assess classroom management skills, adaptability, and cultural awareness. Even if you don't have teaching experience, there is a high chance to land ESL job there.
I interviewed at EF (Education First) (Shanghái, Shanghai)
Interview
Easiest interview I've had, they talked more as if I already had the job. Asking questions like where in china did I want to be. Don't stress, just be relaxed and talk about why you want to teach and why you want to live in china.
