I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dollar General (Wooster, OH) in Apr 2023
Interview
They call you to get you to come in, you sit in the backroom and get asked a couple of questions about your previous work experience, you're hired. As soon as you partake in this interview, you're hired. You're almost sort of pressured into working there because they look so hopeful and excited that you're here. I came in cause I needed the money, and didn't mind the work experience, but if you want a company that cares about you, don't work at Dollar General. They didn't even have me officially in the system until a month after I worked there, so I was working on other people's numbers (against policy) because I had no other choice. I joined when there were 5 people and quit when there were two left, me and a sales associate. Even the Store Manager quit, forcing me into an Acting Store Manager position that I was not ready to take. Not to mention the pay is very low for what you have to do.
