I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Dollar General (Tulsa, OK) in May 2010
Interview
Was invited to attend a job fair by a district manager. I did. I had an interview with a corporate recruiter, a district manger, and the regional director while there. The interviews were fairly standard. Background, career goals, eduction and the like. Everyone was pleasant. The recruiter seemed to look down on my restaurant background, but the jobs are very similar.

Interview
It was a very informal interview. I got a call in the morning to come in that afternoon. The store is not yet open, but set-up starts next week. By the end of the interview, which was just her letting me know about the company, policies, and pay, I was told I had the job. To make sure to take the drug test within 48 hours. There wasn't any real questions at all.
