I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Dollar General (Alton, IL) in Jun 2014
Interview
I had two interviews. The first one lasted about 5 minutes and the store manager talked on the phone for 3 of them. My second interview the next day was with the other manager and she was wayy more professional about handling the interview. This one lasted around 10 minutes and she told me to call them if I didn't hear from them. They called me two days later and told me that I got the job. =D

Interview
When you apply, they generally get back to you very quickly. If it's a key holder level position or higher you may get called in by the DM or SM, but have to interview with both. DONT COME EXPECTING THE POSITION THEY CALL YOU ON. They're bad about needing more than one position filled, but may want you to take a step lower than what you applied for/was called for. I initially got called for ASM but the DM told me at the interview the next day after she called that they found someone and I could take a sales leader position for 8.50. I accepted since I was jobless and interviewed with store manager who also confirmed I was hired. I eventually got the ASM position as that one and the next they hired were outrageous goofballs who shouldn't even be cashiers.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Dollar General (Oklahoma City, OK) in Nov 2010
Interview
Very simple process. Submit the application and then be tenacious about checking in with the employer. Let them know how badly I want the position. Then the Interview. I was honest and just being myself. Stayed on the positives and away from any negatives.

Question 1
What does Integrity mean to you? I have always prided myself on my integrity and was surprised to be asked about it. I thought that was great.
