The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General (Forest, VA) in Aug 2018
Interview
It took a couple of weeks to get a call back after applying. The manager called and requested for me to come in the same day. I advised I could not as I also work full time. She stated she would call me back another day. A week went by and she never called. I called to follow up and she was quite rude on the phone and acted as though I was bothering.
I got a time set up. When I arrived for the interview the manager greeted me. She was very friendly. She did not really ask me any questions other than an open ended, tell me about yourself. She reviews pay, dress code, job function.
She told me I interviewed well and she would call the store I wanted to work from and see of that had openings and would call me back on a week.
I never heard from her. Called to follow up 3x and employees would answer the phone, put me on hold and never return to the line. I finally got in touch with her and she told me they didn't have any openings at the 2 stores in my town. Those stores still have "now hiring" signs posted.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Dollar General (Jermyn, PA) in Aug 2018
Interview
I arrived about an half hour too early since I don't drive for a variety of reason. As seen applied above I applied for the Full time Sales Associates. in which in return, didn't state needing a license as a requirement in the job description until recently. Furthermore, I tried explaining this to the manager and he seem that he didn't want to listen to the fact that there was no requirement on the job description. Please the manager kept adding more and more responsibilities compared to what was listed. Although, it was a conversation, he kept repeating himself in a manner kept asking to go back to a certain point. I felt like the manager wasn't really listening during whole interview process. A lot of the questions were about my background.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General in Mar 2018
Interview
The hiring process was quick and easy. I did two phone interviews and then received an offer. I then did a background check and a drug test. The phone interviews were just basic questions about experience, school, and knowledge of Dollar General.
