They looking for somebody that have communication skills people skills sales skills and cashier experience and skills I feel like I will be a good candidate to the company because I am responsible
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General in Jul 2018
Interview
Started with a pre-screen with the Regional HR. Asked the basic operational questions. Then connected me to the Regional Director, who had me do an initial sit down with the local DM. RD follows back up a week later and in about 90 minutes received a conditional job offer. Lots of STAR based questioning. Then to their Director of HR for a basic 60 minute phone interview mostly focused on STAR and relevant experience and culture examples. Finally the Divisional VP was supposed to contact via FaceTime. After her failing to meet this schedule twice, we finally met up what was supposed to be FaceTime, but in fact it was just a phone call. She was new to the position, and less than engaging in her role. She asked a lot of why questions but nothing behavioral. The passion from the Teams I met were great. The Regional Director was awesome, as was the HR partner. The local DM was equally as engaging. Unfortunately for them their Divisional VP doesn’t seem trustworthy for a career change.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when you faced a major organizational change that wasn’t revived well, and how did you communicate it.
Easy interview didn't really ask anything that I had to think about. More general convo than anything. I aced it and got the job. Advanced quickly with the job until I decide to leave.
