I applied online. I interviewed at Discover (Riverwoods, IL) in Aug 2020
Interview
First was a phone call to get to know me from the recruiter, then the hiring manager. Next stage, I was brought in and interviewed by the hiring manager and other Directors and VPs consecutively. Received a timely offer.

Question 1
The interview questions were mostly behavioral type questions and asking about my past experience how it relates to the objectives to be accomplished.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Discover (Riverwoods, IL) in Oct 2020
Interview
The interview was probably the best tech interview I've ever had. The coding exam was mainly multiple choice covering pretty much everything you would have learned in your CS degree, the basics. Things like sorting, database systems, basic java, etc. Then there were 5 coding problems that any sophomore should be able to answer with relative ease. 1 database sql problem, a few array problems, a get/post problem (that full disclosure I didn't know how to solve and left blank and still got the job). Then was your standard behavioral interview and then 2 hiring manager interviews.

Lead me through the code you did on x problem on the coding test we gave you.
The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Discover (Londres, Inglaterra)
Interview
A brief HR phone call followed by two stages . At the first stage , I spoke 1 to 1 with 3 different persons and the second stage was again 1 to 1with the same set of individuals. Overall, 5 hours of virtual interviews.
This was a very strange experience for me for two reasons.
First - I directly received Interview invites from HR with very short notice between receiving the invite and the actual Interview dates. Also, this was without having checked my availability in the first instance. I guess this is a standard practice. Worth mentioning though that every time I responded to say I was unavailable, the meetings were promptly rescheduled. I also saw the same job advertisement getting posted afresh during the later stages of my interview process.
Secondly - No feedback!! Which is indeed disappointing. Not even to say my application was unsuccessful! I was told I did well in my first stage and hence was proceeded to the next stage. The next stage was with the same set of people , and I was not faced with any questions that were tricky. I was told that would hear back (latest) in a week's time. I was also told that there were multiple positions for the same role/level? Waited 3 more weeks for an update and withdrew my application following no updates /silence from Discover. Also , saw role being advertised on LinkedIn again, immediately after my interview.
I liked the organisation and people I spoke to. Very experienced and thoughtful. I just think the recruitment process needs a lot of improvement. Especially on how to engage with candidates. Also an acknowledgement that candidates invest time for interviews and such experiences does not help attract the best.
