Pretty easy. It was last year but I received a phone screening, then virtual interview. I was hired on the spot. The recruiter was very friendly and informative. It was quick process.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Discover (Chicago, IL) in May 2022
Interview
I interviewed for the Senior Business Data Analyst position at Discover. The process was very organized and professional from start to finish. The recruiting team communicated clearly and provided a detailed interview schedule well in advance, which made it easy to prepare.
The final round consisted of four 30 to 45-minute Microsoft Teams video interviews spread across two days. Each interview was with a different person— ranging from senior managers to a principal analyst — which gave a well-rounded view of the team and role.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
∙ Behavioral questions (tell me about a time you…, a lot on the resume)
∙ Technical questions around SQL and data analysis (2nd highest salary, difference between JOINS and UNION ALL, etc)
∙ Case study / problem-solving scenarios
∙ Role-specific business questions relevant to the data analyst function
Interview process was pretty good and quick. Just one interview before getting an offer and questions were not too hard. They were mainly why I wanted to work there and the soonest I could start.
