I applied online. I interviewed at Deloitte (Christchurch, ) in Apr 2017
Interview
I was asked to give a one-sided video interview with 3 questions timed for 2 mins answers approx. The questions were expected ones, but it was my first interview in a while and was not very confident which cost me the opportunity,

Question 1
What will be your first decision as CEO of Deloitte
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deloitte (Auckland, )
Interview
The interview process started with a partner interview straight away and I was lucky enough to interview with the Partner and who was also the head of consulting in a large area. The partner interview was unorthodox and he did not ask any of the typical questions like "Tell me about yourself" or strengths and weaknesses. It was all pretty in depth questions which were hard but manageable for sure. I was fortunate enough to get through this interview but was put through to a second interview with a director and an associate director. When i arrived for the interview, it was a conference call and there were some technical issues that delayed the interview but it was nothing too drastic. I conducted the interview with just the director with the associate director nowhere in sight. The interview was more relaxed than the other interview and more about my experiences and skills.
In the end I got rejected because apparently i was too formal and used words often such as "Mr" and "sir" which they didn't like. Personally i thought this was a pretty stupid reason to get rejected and I could have easily corrected. Going through the process of preparing an interview and answering questions confidently and accurately and to see myself fail because of that reason felt real bad and i think there must be other reasons. Just wanted to share this experience to help future candidates and not make a grave mistake in Deloitte's eyes of being formal and respectful.

Question 1
What would you say the one thing you learned in University that helped shape who you are today and makes you a perfect candidate for this role?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Deloitte (Wellington, ) in Apr 2015
Interview
I applied online, and was lucky enough to skip the video interview and jumped straight into an on-site interview. The onsite interview was broken down into two parts focusing on your personality/career questions, and then a case study. Following that I was flown up to the main Deloitte office in my country to attend an assessment center. The assessment center was very competitive and prestigious. Be very smart about what you say and when - there are Deloitte partners who are jotting notes about you the entire day.
Overall, just you be yourself and don't psych yourself out. Take it step by step, and demonstrate that you can work in a team. Be prepare to present.
