first round - 3 mins video record submission
second round - met with manager and a team member (face to face)
third and final round - met with director and CFO (face to face)
Overall process was okay until the final step. I received an offer from another company and hence requested Decathlon's treasury manager to let me know whether i am deemed the right fit by the next day if possible so that i can decline the other company's offer, and was told "okay, will get back to you by tomorrow".
On the next day night time, i received a reply alright, but the contents left me literally flabbergasted. The treasury manager mentioned that i had a "very demanding" behaviour and hence will not be proceeding further with my application.
This is rather shocking as this is a reasonable request made by a candidate and not what he describes as "very demanding". I understand the very chill and "life first before work" vibes and attitude this French staff member is used to in the workplace, but this "do not rush me or you are not getting the job" attitude, unfortunately, portrays him as a rather lazy and non-urgent manager that you won't want to work under if you are career-focused, used to a fast-pace environment, and eager to learn.
