I had interview with store manager, but the part that actually counted was the sew test with the alteration manager. Which was a simple test which was hemming a chiffon dress

Interview
I had applied as a bridal stylist but included on my resume that I knew how to sew. I received a call from the alterations department asking me to interview for alterations instead, and I accepted. They had me come in for a general interview where I met the store manager and then had a casual interview with the alterations manager.
I was asked to come in the next day for a sewing test. I was given a sample dress and asked to hem the front and blend it into the train. Then, I was asked to sew down an invisible zipper that had come loose. I was also asked to take in the bodice at the side seam. The measurements were marked for me, and the test was really just to gauge what “level” to hire me as to determine my skill level and pay rate. I got an offer at the end of this test!
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at David's Bridal (Charlotte, NC) in Jul 2022
Interview
The hiring manager just read off basic interview questions from a sheet, quite impersonal and unengaging. After I answered each of the questions, the hiring manager would tell me their answer, as if my answer was wrong? There was also a mandatory sewing test, but this was unnecessary as they didn't bother to contact me at all after.

Starting with test your sewing skill, and ask pretty easy questions, introducing the working environment , and ask for availability. Very nice and easy. Friendly and then you will be introduced to the front manager
