Question 1
What previous experience do you have in a sales environment?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Columbus, GA) in May 2010
Interview
The interview was in the employee break room which seems a little unprofessional. The assistant manager questioned me and only asked two questions, I barely got to speak about myself. Then he started rambling about the importance of selling the customer more than they actually need and I that's when I found out I was being interviewed for a cashiering position instead of a sales associate. He was very honest about the turnover rate, saying that I probably won't stay on for long. I'm not sure where he got that idea. He took a phone call, made no apologies, and then sent me on my way. I didn't get asked much and I didn't have much time to sell retail experience. I've not gotten a call back. Not too disappointed I suppose
