I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (New York, NY) in May 2016
Interview
Job posting open to everyone, everyone is interviewed, process can take a long time. Most the time it feels like management has who they want to promote in mind however everyone has an opportunity to express there skill set and interest.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (Oshawa, ON) in Nov 2015
Interview
Brief phone interview and two following up in-person interviews, one with a local recruiter and one with a head office employee. The interview went great but they insisted even with more knowledge then most they usually hire within the company and everyone starts at the base wage, which is minimum wage. So they don't look at the value you offer them but would prefer to promote someone within, pay them more, and have less experience than you.
