I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (Bridgewater, NJ) in Sep 2014
Interview
Easy. They call you and ask you to come in for an interview. I showed up 15 minutes early wearing nice pants, a button down shirt and a tie. I was told "Wow, you already have the job!" by an HR person. They told me that most people come in wearing jeans and a tee shirt.
I was interviewed in the food court at a table (standard practice) by the Bakery Manager and also another department manager (standard practice). It was a scripted interview with dead simple questions. Not hard at all and very casual.
After 10-15 minutes they both said that they approved and I needed to do a second interview with a senior level manager. This was more of a "this is what job you're doing are you ok with it?" type of conversation.
Then after being approved by the Senior level manager I was drug tested (oral swab in their office) and then given some papers and discussed when I would start.
It was super easy and even a bit of fun because I was trying to get in to Costco for a couple months at that point. If you're getting hired in late sept. - october you're probably going to be seasonal.

I applied online. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (Colchester, VT) in Apr 2016
Interview
Interview was basic and very casual. Meeting with two supervisors asking typical "what would you do" and "give us a scenario" type questions. Post interview conversation with interviewers was polite but non remarkable.
