The interview process involved speaking with an HR representative for the company. After the phone screen, I was given a HackerRank assessment test for React, which I passed.
Upon passing, I was then invited to speak with the Hiring Manager who I think I had an okay talk with overall.
Afterwards, I was then invited to do a technical assessment, and I think this is where things really started to turn sour. Firstly, the technical assessment was done by a third-party company rather than with someone within CookUnity, so you lose the ability of learning what the company is like. Secondly, the third-party interviewer was from India, and his connection was not great. Thirdly, without notice, the reviewer who showed up was not the reviewer who was scheduled. Lastly, he was incredibly rude. He constantly talked down and interrupted me while I was trying to explain my thought process on solutions.
At this point, I would not expect to be selected, but when you get told you'll receive feedback but then get ghosted, you really get frustrated with the whole ordeal and you wonder if really the interview process was worth it.
