On 10/21, I applied for the Project Coordinator 2 position at Convergint’s San Diego office. I was promptly contacted by the Operations Manager on 10/22 to schedule an interview for 10/26. I prepared thoroughly, researching the company and organizing my notes to ensure I was well-prepared.
On 10/26, I joined the scheduled TEAMS call and waited for 15 minutes. After not receiving any communication, I reached out by phone to confirm whether the interview would still take place but received no answer. I then followed up with an email, to which he later responded apologetically, asking to reschedule for a time that suited me. I provided alternative time slots as requested but unfortunately received no further response.
It’s disappointing to be ghosted, especially when I had invested my time in preparing and was genuinely enthusiastic about the opportunity. If they had decided to move in a different direction or had filled the role, a quick update would have been respectful and appreciated. I know I’m qualified for this role, so I’m confident my candidacy wasn’t the issue.
Treating candidates like this isn’t okay and companies need to be held accountable.
