After submitting my application and resume to this company online, I received a call back from them a few days later. At the time, I was on the phone, and their call went to voicemail. They did not leave a message, so I returned the call to the number displayed on my phone, and it took me directly to their receptionist. She informed me that she had been reaching out to schedule an interview, and together, we set up the time and date, as well as whether I was looking for full-time or part-time. I stated that I was looking for either, and that was that. Easy. It was scheduled during their non-public hours, which didn't seem weird at the time, considering they'd called me during this same timeftame. I figured they're still working while the office is closed to the public.
During the day of the interview, I arrived five minutes early. I walked up to the building and could immediately see that it was dark, so I knocked on the door. No one answered, and there was no movement inside, from what I could see. So, I waited around for a few minutes, until my appointment time came and went, with no sign of my interviewer in sight. Ten minutes into waiting, and I called them, but there was no answer. I called again, and there was no response, so I called a different location. No answer from them either. Fifteen minutes into waiting and I left a message with their answering service, stating that I'd arrived for my interview, the time and day it had been scheduled for, and my number, saying to please return my call when they had a chance, and that perhaps we could sort out any miscommunication there may have been.
It's been a dull week since my interview was supposed to take place, and so far, no one had returned my call, or inquired as to what had happened, or if I was still interested. This is a terrible indication of their communication ability, and reflects quite poorly on the company. Not only did they waste my time, but it was incredibly inconsiderate on their part to ghost an interviewee, and is a huge red flag to future potential employees.
