I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at City Year (Boston, MA) in Dec 2014
Interview
Applied to serve where most needed. Two interviews. First was a placement interview, very simple. Simply deciding your interest and where you might be best fit to serve. 15 minutes total. Second, site interview through Skype. Interviewed with regional recruitment person. 45 minutes total. Various questions about experience interspersed with typical interview questions. A great deal of questions about City Year's values. Overall, if you've well versed on City Year, the interview isn't very difficult so don't let it rattle your nerves too much.
Very simple. Quick virtual interview and pretty simple questions. Research their values and what not and you should be good to go. As far as I remember it was a single interview and decision is relatively soon after that.
Really friendly and welcoming. Try to make it as comfortable as possible and share about the work they do. They want to ensure applicants are making the right decisions and that they assess the values.

Interview
Done over zoom and not an overly long process interviews are usually conducted by the IM for a school in the city you are applying for but if you have a pulse you should be fine
