I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at City Year (Boston, MA) in May 2016
Interview
It was a very pleasant, albeit cordial in person interview. It lasted an hour and it was a series of 18 questions. The interviewer was incredibly polite and thanked me for every answer after he was finished recording my response. Each response is typed as you write but it didn't feel awkward.
Very simple. Quick virtual interview and pretty simple questions. Research their values and what not and you should be good to go. As far as I remember it was a single interview and decision is relatively soon after that.
Really friendly and welcoming. Try to make it as comfortable as possible and share about the work they do. They want to ensure applicants are making the right decisions and that they assess the values.

Interview
Done over zoom and not an overly long process interviews are usually conducted by the IM for a school in the city you are applying for but if you have a pulse you should be fine
