I have worked for the company for 5 years. 1sy interview is with the hiring manager for about 39 mins....the 2nd interview is with the director for about 50 mins. Typical interview questions.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Centene (Clayton, MO)
Interview
Original interview - given badge because you have no access to anything and it's Big Brother - you are on camera at all times. HR comes and gets you. HR all glass windows looking upon Down Town Clayton. Very Nice. Initial interview with first with HR Representative. Many questions, "Give me a time when ...." .. many questions are repetitive and almost "tricky." Also interviewed with the general manager of the department - same questions. 1.5 hour process.
Called back 5 weeks later for 2nd interview. Again, small interview process with HR Representative and then with the director of the department. Again, a couple week wait and was offered the position.
1 hour process on 2nd interview.
Internal interviews - again, with HR as well as according to the department you will interview also with the director, or general manger - or both.
Several, Several questions - all the same type questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Give me an example when you were in a situation that your supervisor was not available and a client was aggravated. How did you handle the situation.
I applied online. I interviewed at Centene in Apr 2014
Interview
I applied online and three weeks later was called by a recruiter to schedule a phone screen. The phone screen went well. He/she asked some basic questions regarding compensation and experience. I was submitted to the hiring manager and was scheduled for a video conference interview. That interview consisted of scripted behavioral questions which were awkward and repetitive. They seemed interested and encouraged me to follow up. I followed up with the recruiter her responsiveness was shoddy. I later followed up with other contacts with whom I had some rapport. Again I was not given any definitive timeline or rejection. As a courtesy to my going through two interviews including a very long interrogatory regarding my experience I expected better follow-up and more responsiveness to candidates (including rejections). I would probably not apply for any other openings with Centene or any affiliates as the level of professionalism was mediocre at best giving a good indication that probably working there would be a little chaotic.
