Interview
WORSE EXPERIECE I applied online to this company and quickly received a phone call. However, this call didn’t serve as a typical initial screening. Instead, I was immediately tasked with a take-home assignment concerning a product revamp for Cathay Pacific, a personality test, and was given a 48-hour deadline. All this preceded a scheduled panel interview online. The panel consisted of two HR representatives and what I presume to be a team manager. Their primary interest was an in-depth walkthrough of the assignment. The emphasis wasn’t so much on evaluating me as a candidate but rather to delve deeply into the intricate details of the proposed revamp. The depth and specificity of their queries seemed to exceed what's typically expected from an interviewee. As just one candidate, I found it unreasonable to be expected to devise solutions that would usually involve an entire organization, various teams, and external vendors. Then, radio silence. Not even the courtesy of a rejection email. This company might have its challenges in the market, but as a candidate, I was taken aback by their approach. It felt less like an interview and more like an attempt to extract comprehensive, cost-effective solutions, combined with customer insights, without compensation or acknowledgment. I know this company isn't doing well financially, but exploiting candidates for free consulting? that's low. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY DRAGGED YOU FOR 60 MINS, KEPT ASKING YOU HOW WOULD YOUR SOLUTION WORKS, THE HR SAID 'OK, NOW YOU HAVE TIME TO ASK US 1 QUESTION'. THAT'S DUMPEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD A HR SAID. PANEL INTERVIEW - 1 QUESTIONS? AFTER YOU ASKED ME FOR SOOO MANY?
