I interviewed in person for a Food Scientist position at Carlo’s Bakery. While I arrived on time, the interviewer was late, which set a disappointing tone. The conversation itself was thorough, with a lot of back-and-forth about the role and current challenges at the facility. I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the company’s operations.
However, I was surprised by the lack of professionalism from the corporate office. Despite taking time to prepare and attend the interview, I never received any follow-up communication—no update, no feedback, not even a courtesy email. For a company seeking to hire experienced professionals, this level of disregard is disheartening. Clear and timely communication is a basic expectation in any hiring process.
I hope the organization reflects on its candidate experience and aligns its hiring practices with the professionalism it expects from applicants.
