I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CarMax (Sterling, VA) in May 2015
Interview
It was intense. Four different people. They were all very nice and friendly. Very professional. The only unnerving part is they put you in a office and you have to sit alone in between people coming to interview you. It took several hours. So you are just siting there. Sort of like you were being interrogated

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CarMax (Ellicott City, MD) in Dec 2014
Interview
Interview was easy, manager just asked me about my past experiences with the last place I worked for. Also, questions were straight forward. The manager also raised me some scenarios and asked what I would do in that situation, i.e., if a customer came in complaining, how would I handle the situation?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CarMax (Portland, OR) in Aug 2014
Interview
Hours and hours long - I was there for almost 6 hours and had be seen by at least 4 different persons in addition to taking a computer test as soon as I arrived. They were quite efficient, but should have mentioned the length that I would be needed - it turned out that I didn't get home til 730 at night. They were quite professional, but it's a straight commission job, so I didn't accept the offer.
