I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CarMax (Bakersfield, CA)
Interview
First you have to answer a really long questionaire maybe 100 questons. Finally you receive a call and you have an over the phone interview with the business assistant manager. After that set up an in store interview. To your surprise you have to do another questionaire there on their computer "online interview" oh lets not forget all the papers they make you sign as if they already offered you a job. After that you must interview with the purchasing manager. And finally after that Interview with the sales manager and again the business office assistant manager because the over the phone interview wasn't enough. I wasn't offered the job but I'm guessing if they are interested in you than you would still have to interview with the actual business manager. I was just left with we will call you if you get the job. Make sure you have several hours to waste for their lengthy interview process.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult customer. What did you do and what was the outcome? All there questions are situational and most are repetitive.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CarMax (Parker, CO) in Jun 2016
Interview
Interview was easy. Answer honestly. All questions are behavior/ situation questions. Tell me about a time when...? What did you do in this type of situation.....? Had a phone interview and they asked 4-5 questions. Very similar to questions in the face to face interview. Passes that and had an interview with 2 managers at the store and it took about 2 hours total. Got an offer on the spot and had to take a drug test right after the offer. There is also a questioner before the interview starts asking about criminal history. It only took a couple minutes to complete.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you went above and beyond for a customer.
I applied online. I interviewed at CarMax (Pineville, NC)
Interview
Online Application is like 2 hours long which is ridiculous. Phone Interview pretty easy and fast. Basic questions like why do you want to work here. Got invited for a face to face interview. They are extra picky. Make sure you study questions like tell me a time when....it was just ridiculous. Everyone was nice. Except one sales manager was laughing because I wasn't prepared for those type of questions like tell me a time when you got someone to buy something that was wasn't going to buy. I never been asked though questions before. I didn't get the job bc they said they would follow up and are revising other candidates. My honest opinion, I think it was too much just for a car sales position.
