I applied online. I interviewed at CarMax (Burbank, CA) in May 2014
Interview
Very thorough process. Three interviews in one day by multiple people, the third ending in a faux car sale. Demonstrate your smart during first interviews, then be as friendly as possible during the sale part. Think, speed date style. Ask questions about the individual, don't even focus on the car or the sale.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at CarMax (Fairfield, CA) in Sep 2016
Interview
The interview process was fairly normal, apart from the extremely long time I had to wait for a manager to get to me. I was waiting in the lobby for a good hour or 2. I met with a few different managers, all asking pretty normal questions.
