I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CarMax (San Diego, CA) in Mar 2017
Interview
The interview process felt really fake, went through so much computer work and questions. Felt kind of pointless to show up just to take 3/4th's of the interview on a computer. After that you get interviewed by a manager for about 5-10 minutes. Said they would call regardless of outcome, but that never happened
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at CarMax (Columbia, SC) in Apr 2017
Interview
Phone interview with managers assistant followed by personal interview with two senior managers, one of which would be my immediate supervisor. Met before the store opened and was given drug test that day. Also had to fill out a background check for my position.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at CarMax in Feb 2018
Interview
First round was an online math test that tested a basic understanding of interpreting graphs. Not too difficult. Second round was a case interview where expected profit or loss was asked to be calculated given 2 scenarios. Required a bit of calculations and had a lot of information.
