Human Resource Manager - Market Level Interview

      Dec 25, 2009
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Dallas, TX
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CarMax (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2008

      Interview

Consisted of multiple interviews. First a basic interview at the local store level. Second interview with the potential supervisor on a local market/district level. Finally, interviewed at Corporate headquarters with regional and HQ leadership. Each interview asked questions surrounding situations and how you have handled them. The final interviews focused on questions surrounding "how would you handle this situation". Very common sense based questions and having a grasp of HR and policy was a key help to success.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

"How would you handle this sitation. The situation described is an employee altercation. As you explain each answer a curveball is thrown in the form of "you don't have access to this. The manager handling the report didn't follow proceedure etc. Different obstacles are thrown to see how you would react.
