I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Capital One in Nov 2022
Interview
Don't interview here. It was an absolute waste of time. First off, they make you take a 70 min. LIVE PROCTORED exam (w/questions that also have nothing to do with any sort of real-world work, where presumably you cannot Google or open new windows like you would be able to on the job) which is incredibly ridiculous, and not something I've ever had to do interviewing for a company. Somehow I passed that, and had to do a FOUR AND A HALF HOUR onsite. There was a system design question, a ridiculous and incredibly stupid leetcode-style question that is not at all indicative of the actual work being done at Capital One and isn't a good way to determine what someone's actual programming ability is. They then ask you to do a "case study" question, and it isn't clear how pertinent that is to the role of a SOFTWARE DEVELOPER. All this, only to get rejected. Not to mention the interviewers I had were not diverse at all. Almost all were men, almost all of the same background. Probably one of the most ridiculous interviewing experiences I've ever had.
