I applied online. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA) in Apr 2024
Interview
The interview process consisted of an initial recruiter screening call followed by one technical and one business-focused interview. Questions covered prior experience, problem-solving approach, stakeholder communication, and data analysis scenarios. Overall, the process was structured, conversational, and focused on understanding real-world experience rather than brainteasers.

Question 1
They focused on how I would approach an ambiguous business problem, structure the analysis, validate data assumptions, and communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Nov 2025
Interview
just like others have described, it's a 4 hour interview (1 hour case study, technical, break, behaviorial). Behaviorial is pretty standard, technical and case study honestly aren't that bad and definitely studyable. However, it's still pretty difficult and definitely study up. It's not like a leetcode.

What was one time you collaborated with your peers?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA) in Feb 2022
Interview
For the interview process, I had an HR screening, 3 business cases, 1 product case. There will be some cultural interviews, too. Capital one is good at shopping you around to different teams and products, if the first one you interviewed for wasn’t a mutual fit.

Question 1
I had a product interview where they asked me to design an alarm clock. Business cases were standard breakeven, profitability, and problem solving questions.
