This was my first interview outside of my college placements. Needless to say I was a bit nervous. I went through 3 technical interviews here and was told that I was selected. I was elated, thinking this would a great start. I waited a few days without any communication from the recruiter. I got a call about 10 days later from one of the recruiters saying she had sent me a mail asking for a few documents. I told her I hadn't gotten her mail and she said she'll re send it. I didn't think much of it. After a few days I called back on the number she had use to call me, she was very rude. "How did you get this number"? "Don't call on this number". Who else am I supposed to call? The CEO of your company? Icing on the cake, that mail never did arrive.
When it came to discussing the salary, she offered me just 7 % increment. That was the worst part of it. When I asked for ~20%, very reluctantly she said she'll send it for approval. It's been around a month and I haven't heard anything yet.
This being my first interview, I was very much shaken about how I was treated. I attended 2 more interviews in a couple of weeks and I was too scared to expect any better treatment from their recruiters. I feel good now that it didn't happen at any of those places. I have got an offer at over 60% increment from one of the places and waiting for the offer from 2nd one. I am glad that things didn't work out with Capgemini.
If they put out an ad for a walk in and you are above average or even average at what you do, I highly recommend you don't go. They asked a lady with 9 years of experience to join at the same CTC as her current CTC. Height of arrogance and neglect.
