I applied for a different job, but was called by the HR employee to interview for another job. I ended up being offered one of the jobs I had applied for initially.
After a brief phone interview, I was invited to an interview with the HR employee and a supervisor. They confirmed this by email and had me fill out some preliminary paperwork.
At the interview, I met first with the HR employee, and then learned that the supervisor I was supposed to meet with was unavailable, but did interview with another supervisor.
The first interview was about basic work experiences and past examples of situations that I could apply to this job. Thankfully none of those "When did you stop beating your wife" questions that are so awful at interviews. The second interviewer wasn't prepared for me but was polite and informative and as nice as could be despite the surprise. All told, I was at the office for about an hour.
Later that day, I was contacted by phone by the HR employee and was offered the job I initially had applied for, and I accepted.
The office was new and very nice, and I was greeted cordially and treated with a great deal of hospitality. Everyone seemed very friendly and helpful, and it definitely gave the impression of being a great place to work without being too stuffy or strict.
