Analyst/Senior Analyst, Capital Markets, APAC Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at CBRE (Singapur) in Oct 2022

      Interview

I am sharing a very unpleasant recruitment process for the role of Analyst/Senior Analyst, Capital Markets, APAC, based in Singapore. I would narrate the process in chronological order. WEEK 0: I was first approached by an in-house recruiter of CBRE ("the recruiter") on Linkedin. I was told to be a potential fit for the role, and he wanted my CV as soon as possible. After sending the recruiter my CV immediately, I have not heard from the recruiter for two weeks, despite dropping the recruiter follow-up Linkedin messages and an email. WEEK 2: The recruiter only got back to me two weeks later and scheduled an on-site interview. WEEK 4: The interview process was pleasant, and the interviewer told me a decision would be made within the week. On the same day after the interview, The recruiter requested me to complete a financial modelling exercise at short notice and invited me for a second interview. The interview took place two days after the first interview and went well, given that it was just a run-through of the financial model. WEEK 5: From there onwards, I have been waiting to hear from the recruiter for a week. Upon enquiring with the recruiter, the recruiter scheduled two call sessions with me on Thursday and Friday of the same week. I cleared my schedule to expect the recruiter's call, but the recruiter did not call me on both occasions, and no apology was given. At this point, I have decided to contact the interviewer via email. WEEK 6: The interviewer replied to my email and told me that my start date might be a dealbreaker for them. I wrote to the interviewer and the recruiter regarding the matter, stating that the start date is negotiable. The recruiter told me the same day that he/she would drop me a call in the afternoon to discuss this. I have, again, cleared my schedule in order to receive the recruiter's call, and regretfully, the recruiter did not manage to call me the third time with no apology. COMMENT: The recruiter's behaviour, at its very least, is disrespectful to the applicant. I see no better way than sharing this experience on Glassdoor, so my fellow job seekers would be better informed when applying for roles at CBRE.
