I was contacted about the job the day the recruiting company received the contract. My experience appeared perfect, so I spoke to the hiring manager the same day. I was excited; the position was contract-to-hire, and I wanted it permanently, by the description. The hiring manager appeared very nice on the phone. This was a Friday; we arranged for an in-person on the following Monday. The compensation seemed to be in question between the recruiting company and the manager, because the manager called me directly the next day and questioned me about the amount. This was not a normal thing with this recruiting company, so I was a bit surprised, but it didn't seem to create an issue. I was hired and went in for an "overview" on that Friday. The next week I was completely on my own; the hiring manager was at Dreamforce, but was able to bring me for 1 day on someone else's badge. Not really enough to get anything out of Dreamforce, but it gave me a bit more time with the manager. My initial impression of the manager proved to be very wrong. After 1 month I was concerned about taking the job, and after 2 months I told the recruiting company I didn't want it and would leave after the initial contract time period. In the end, it was a veyr bad experience.
