I applied online. I interviewed at Boston University (Boston, MA) in May 2019
Interview
At first, interview went quite smoothly. I applied online and had two rounds of interviews on Skype with the faculty. They offered me a job verbally and told me that I would receive the written job offer by email. However, after waiting for a couple of weeks, I heard nothing. When I chased it up, I was told that they offered the job to someone else. I do not have any problem with my application being refused, but this was a very unprofessional behaviour from the department. They refused to give me details about what happened. They played games with me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
It was mainly about teaching different subjects in Marketing Analytics and research experience. I was asked to prepare a presentation on a topic of my choice.
General questions at first. They asked me why I came to BU and how I like it here. They continued asking about why this job interested me and how my major relate to the job.
Great experience, love my boss, great job too. Highly recommend. Dress formally and be yourself. It will work out because the hiring process is an opportunity to get to know the real you, not the embellished resume.
