I interviewed at Boston Consulting Group (New York, NY)
Interview
First round was recruiter screening that I gave months ago. second was the OA, which was a mixture of stats, ML theory MCQs, and then a bunch of Data Science Questions which were to be given in a jupyter notebook. The data science questions were built on top of one another, but were very typing-heavy and lengthy, so would suggest practicing pandas and scikit learn in advance.

Question 1
Describe a challenging project you've done. What was the outcome, what did you do well, and what could you have done better?
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Boston Consulting Group in Nov 2025
Interview
Lengthy, there were numerous screenings before making it to the technical interview, which seems to be the primary barrier. They expect you to prepare for their specific interview format way too much to acquire top data scientists who do not spend their time on case interviews.

Question 1
Mainly just a technical case, which is just a business problem that you need to work through utilizing data science. Mine was a demand forecasting problem, so nothing very exciting. They claim to want talent at the forefront of the field of data science, but simultaneously interview for bleh business data science knowledge, no GenAI, no deep learning. Not sure why they passed me through the screenings seeing all of my internship experience as a new grad was technical GenAI and deep learning internships at research institutions.
