I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Blue Apron (New York, NY)
Interview
First interview is among a group of other viable candidates. General questions concerning the overlap of previous experience that would be beneficial for the prospective position. Some writing concerning the answers to the questions that they posit after the initial interview questions. Finally, they interview individually.

Interview
I applied online and got a response in a few days. I interviewed the next day and then was contacted by a coordinator to speak to a HR Manager. I had two great interviews with the final statement being you completely align with what the founders of the company wish to achieve. After the initial interviewer going on vacation and no response, I decided to send an email. I received an email stating that they moved forward with another candidate. Fine, however, I did not apply to the position which they sent me a generic rejection letter. All the feedback I received was positive, I was told that I was in the final stage which meant an offer letter would be next. However, this was not the case. No one contacted me and I sent multiple emails and received rejection letters for a position I did not apply for. I found out after the fact they the reason I was rejected was because they considered me for a different position rather than the one I applied for. They told me I was too "overqualified" for the position I applied to, but not as qualified to be hired for the position they "thought" I was being interviewing for. Myself being a recruiter have always reached out personally to candidates which we passed on, they send generic emails. Word to the wise look else where if you want professionalism throughout the candidate process. Have better oversight of your hiring needs because the best talent doesn't mind taking a step back and growing in "start up".
Thanks for your review. We'd like to address this with you directly so if you can please contact us by emailing jobs@blueapron.com, we'll be able to follow up.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Blue Apron in May 2016
Interview
I had a brief phone screening with one of the recruiters at Blue Apron. From the get go, for some odd reason I could sense a slight disinterest in his voice. At first I thought it was just me overthinking it, but once I got back word that I was not going to move forward to the in-person interview, I knew that he was in fact disinterested. Most likely a new recruiter, but it gave me a bad impression of the company to be honest—makes me believe that people there are not genuine. Note that his reason for me not being considered was that the team was looking for somebody with more experience in larger brands. But shouldn't that be your job to check that before you even talk to me on the phone? Yep... do your job, thanks. (note: I had three "big" brands on my resume)
Thanks for your candid feedback regarding your phone interview. We're disappointed that you didn't have a positive experience. Our goal is to ensure that each candidate has the best experience possible when interacting with a Blue Apron recruiter and/or hiring manager. We're more than happy to revisit your candidacy with you and discuss the disconnect. In order to do so, please email us at jobs@blueapron.com. Thanks again. We'll make sure to act upon your comments.
