I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Biogen (Cambridge, MA) in Sep 2013
Interview
Was initially contacted by outside recruiter who set up a phone interview with manager. The phone interview was about 30 minutes long and included some basic questions about my background and some discussion about the role responsibilities. It was a cordial interview and I was selected for the next round of interviews. The next interview took place at Biogen Idec where I was scheduled to meet with five different people for 30 minutes each. Everyone was extremely pleasant and cordial and I felt very comfortable with the interview. The questions regarded my scientific background and what I can bring to the position. Nobody tried to "trick" me with any questions and it was very professional.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Biogen (Cambridge, MA) in Jan 2021
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter in early December then promptly had two interviews; one call with the recruiter and another via Microsoft Teams with two different hiring managers. Before the holidays, I was invited to interview with the entire team at Biogen virtually in early January. This interview was essentially a replacement for a regular on-site interview. The interview consisted of a 45min seminar and then a sequence of ~6 face-to-face interviews with two other people at Biogen. They asked questions pertaining to my research, skills, and work experience. They mostly wanted to know how I operate/function in the lab and how I got along with my former and current lab mates -- basically checking if I could fit into their culture at Biogen. The last few interviews sessions consisted of a current scientist at Biogen talking about their independent research and another giving a virtual lab tour.
After everything was said and done, the senior recruiter reached out and told me that they would keep me posted about my application status; it was overwhelmingly positive. After a week, they reached out again about references. Then a week after that, an offer was made. The entire process took about ~2 months.
