Interview
Very straight forward, the usual with basic questions, make eye contact and ask questions at the end to seem more interested in the job do NOT talk about yourself, more or so what you can bring to the company

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Big 5 Sporting Goods (Fresno, CA) in Mar 2018
Interview
Brief. Few questions were asked being that most people applying are younger with little to no prior work experience. Basically had to wait on the background check to go through which was a few days. Was hired over the phone and asked to come in once more before my start date.
I applied online. I interviewed at Big 5 Sporting Goods (San Jose, CA) in Oct 2020
Interview
It was pretty straight forward. They ask a couple of basic questions: 5 best traits, 1 negative, why do you want to work there, do you have any experience that will help you with the particular job. They also ask if you can lift 15 pounds of weight - this is not required for the cashier position it is more for sales person, or moving around inventory (and they say you can always ask coworkers for help)
