I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Bed Bath & Beyond (Louisville, KY) in Feb 2013
Interview
First Interview was with the regional human resources manager at one of the local stores. The second interview was with the District Manager at his home store. They are well dressed. Good posture. Well spoken men. The stores are run differently. They have a decentralized managerment style. Each time you change location you feel like you need retrained for the new operations of this store. no two stores are alike and no two regions or areas are alike. That is really the most difficult thing about working there.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No question was difficult or out of the norm. They are a very customer service concerned company and they look for that passion in people. You have to be able to merchandise without planograms. The District Manager is expecting you to be aware of your best sellers and address them accordingly. Regional Manager bascially tries to talk you out of the position I think to weed out weak links.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Bed Bath & Beyond
Interview
When someone brings in an application a manager is paged to come upfront to meet and greet. At this time the manager is to spend 5 to 10 minutes walking and talking with this person. This process is not an interview. Then if that manager liked what they went over then it would be passed on to a second manager usually the store manager. The meet and greets can be as high as 2 a day or 20 a day just depends. Then the store manager will call in the ones that where passed along as good ones to look at.

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bed Bath & Beyond (Cary, NC) in Jul 2013
Interview
They only accept physical paper applications, so dress well when you show up and ask for one and when you turn it in as well. I received a call a few weeks after I turned my application in and scheduled an immediate interview with a department manager ("hardside" specifically). I had the interview face to face soon after. I was told that I was supposed to meet another department and then building managers, but that particular manager decided to pass me through since I did well enough. I was called within the week by the building manager who then proposed to hire me at his maximum: 9.50/hour.
